Rescue & patch up
Abandoned, poorly or vulnerable? We take them in, get them to the vet and nurse them back to their best.
A small, self-funded rescue in Dorset
We're Pads & Paws — a bunch of cat-daft volunteers who rescue, rehabilitate, foster and rehome abandoned and vulnerable cats. We also love sharing what we know about responsible cat care.
Fifteen years ago, a stray called Harry turned up in a sorry state: a broken paw and a nasty eye infection. We got him the treatment he needed and waited for his owner to come forward. Nobody ever did.
So Harry was neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and Pads & Paws was born. We've been giving cats like him a second chance ever since. Lately we've started helping abandoned dogs too.
From muddy rescues to fluffy happy endings, here's how we spend our days (and quite a few nights).
Abandoned, poorly or vulnerable? We take them in, get them to the vet and nurse them back to their best.
Our cats recover in caring foster homes until we find the perfect forever family for them.
Volunteers use humane traps to catch street cats. Each one is neutered, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms, then rehabilitated or released.
We share tips on caring for your cat responsibly, and offer feline behaviourist consultations for a donation that goes straight back into the rescue.
We can also help owners get their cats to and from the vet. Just ask!
Don't panic, we're here to help. Tap a question for the details.

We run local lost and found groups on Facebook. Post there and our community will keep an eye out:
Let us know. Our volunteers can safely catch street and feral cats with humane traps. Every cat is neutered, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms, then rehabilitated or released back where they're happiest.

Our vet friends
Our cats are in safe hands with Dave and Lucy, mobile vets with over 20 years' experience each. They've just launched Safe Haven Mobile Vets, offering stress-free care for cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals in the comfort of your own home.
We're entirely self-funded through raffles and our "guess a dog" fundraiser. Every penny pays for neutering, microchipping, first vaccinations and ongoing treatment for strays.
Got spare cat or dog food or other animal bits? Give us a call and a volunteer can come and collect.
